Common Questions

Funding questions, answered.

What is CDHCI?

The Client Directed Home Care Invoicing Program allows eligible Albertans to receive approved home care services from registered providers and have eligible invoices submitted through Alberta Blue Cross.

Do I need a Home Care assessment?

Yes. Eligibility is determined through Alberta Health Services Home Care. We can help you understand the process and prepare questions before you speak with AHS.

Can I choose my home care provider?

Eligible clients can choose from approved CDHCI providers. Beteseb Care is positioned for families who want language-matched, culturally responsive care.

Can I choose a caregiver who speaks my language?

Whenever possible, Beteseb Care works to match clients with caregivers who understand their language, culture, and family values.

Are all services covered?

No. Coverage depends on your approved care plan and funding authorization. We clearly explain any services that may not be covered.

Is there any cost to use Beteseb Care's services?

We offer free consultations and eligibility reviews. For eligible CDHCI clients, services may be fully covered. Contact us for details specific to your situation.

What does "culturally relevant" care mean?

We respect your traditions, languages, and family values. Our caregivers are matched to your cultural preferences whenever possible — whether that means traditional meals, cultural holidays, modesty preferences, prayer routines, or communication in your preferred language.

What are my options if I don't qualify for CDHCI?

There may be other programs or private-pay options available. We will never leave a family without options — we explore every avenue with you.

How quickly can services start?

Timing depends on eligibility, approvals, caregiver availability, and your specific needs.

Do you serve only Calgary?

We primarily serve Calgary and surrounding communities.
